Kate Pass

Kate Pass is a double bassist and electric bassist from Western Australia with a passion for composing and performing original music.

Kate frequently tours nationally and internationally, performing at an array of festivals and events in Asia, New York and Europe with highlights including performing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, WOMADelaide, Singapore Jazz Festival, Penang Jazz Festival, and Ghent Festival in Belgium and Bergmannstrasse Festival in Germany.

Kate has recently recorded a debut album of original music, “Kohesia,” which explores elements of Persian music in a jazz context. Her compositions have received nominations for three WAM Song of the Year Awards for both the Jazz and World Music categories.

Professor Di Twigg: ECU Nurses Learn in a Global Classroom
PhD, MBA, B Health Sc (Nsg) Hons, RN, RM, FACN

Professor Di Twigg is Executive Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Edith Cowan University, Perth Western Australia and Research Consultant in the Centre for Nursing Research at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. For most of her career Professor Twigg has been employed in the health industry and has held several senior health executive roles, most notably as Executive Director of Nursing Services at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, a 600 bed Magnet designated teaching hospital.

Professor Twigg combines her extensive experience in Health Service leadership with more recent research and policy development to make a contribution to issues related to nursing workforce, hospital staffing and cost effective care. She is recognised for her work in relation to nursing workforce and patient outcome research which specifically relates to safe staffing levels and the relationships between staffing, patient, organisational and economic outcomes.

Professor Twigg was also recently presented with the Lifetime Achievement Honour at the WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards, 2017.

You may remember George as the talented young man who accompanied Magda Lisek, WAAPA opera singer, on the day the fire alwarm sent us all outside.
